reflection

This module marked the departure from restrictive methodologies, giving students the freedom to explore different creative avenues. However, I approached this project with a great deal of rigour. My three-dimensional Mario world prioritized accuracy with regard to the two elevations, and from there I challenged myself to utilize the resultant space in an interesting and well-composed manner.

I believe that the final composition is successful in both of these respects; the space contains many structures loosely inspired by urban and industrial architecture, and is both visually pleasing while remaining true to the elevations. The feedback I received was critical of my precision in Adobe Illustrator, which I later revisited after learning methods to align anchor points. However, the lower portion of the composition still retains a slightly weaker composition when compared with the top layers.

I gained an extensive skillset in Illustrator due to this module, while also learning about concepts of flatness and projection in art and architecture.
